What is Monster Robot Parade?
Monster Robot Parade is a collaborative project between myself, Daniel E. Borup, and my 6 year old daughter LouAnna. Nearly every day I send LouAnna to school with a Halfie (a half sheet of paper) with half of a drawing and half of a sentence written. LouAnna then finishes the drawing and the sentence. We then post them on this blog for your viewing enjoyment. Of course this project is not to create masterpieces but to inspire creativity in both of us. A great side effect of this project is it helps our relationship grow.

Where did you get this idea?
About a year ago (late in the year 2012) I was searching for creativity exercises for my high school art class. I came across a website called wandermonster.com. It was a Father son collaborative project doing this same thing. I was intrigued and wanted to do it with my own children but I never got around to doing it. This year when my oldest daughter started 1st grade she was frustrated with school because of the longer school days and less arts and crafts activities. I started doing Half Drawings with her to get her excited about going to school. It seems to have helped.

What else?
Next year when my 4 year old daughter starts school I plan to include her in the project. We also do other similar drawing activities from time to time which you will see every now and again on the blog.

The name Monster Robot Parade was given to the blog because LouAnna wanted to make it sound scary.

I hope you enjoy.
